Wright, Jr., Ricky Lee Wright and Luther Wayne Wright a granddaughter Crystal Lavada Facello sisters Louise Vance, and Bobby Jean Duncil and two brothers Larry Rose, and Tommy Rose. Martha was preceded in death by her parents Acie and Edna (Johnson) Rose her husband Ernest Wright, Sr. She was an excellent self-taught seamstress including embroidering, crocheting, and quilting. Her dedication to church and reading her Bible were the most important things to her. She was the widow of Ernest Wright and a daughter of Acie and Edna Johnson Rose. She passed at her residence in Payne Gap, Ky.
Lessie M.PAYNE GAP, KY – Martha Lavada (Rose) Wright, 85, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on June 10, 2023. She also leaves behind her dedicated friend, Mrs. Ronnie (Betty) Mathis, Felita (Eric) Bryant, sisters-in-law, Nellie Howe and Annie Merritt and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends. Geraldine (Robert) Jones, Edna (Jeffery) Spivey, Dr. Lessie leaves her siblings, Eloise Bernard, Charlotte, South Carolina, Lonnie (Mercie) Mathis, Henry (Mary) Mathis, Willie (Cynthia) Mathis, Dr. Lessie also leaves her grandchildren, Lionel (Terrilyn) Davis, Perry GA, Dennis (LaDonnah) Davis, Kathleen GA, Spencer (Ashley) Davis, Perry GA, Denzell (Arnesha) Davis, Warner Robins GA, Shakira Hicks, Vienna GA, Phillipe Tomblin, Warner Robins GA, Kayoria Turner, Montezuma GA, Ulysius McGhee, Byron GA, Jimdrickus Bolden of Atlanta GA, Kimberly Taylor, Cordele GA, Javorlus Taylor, Cordele GA, Cierrah Johnson and Courtney Johnson, Kathleen GA and 18 great grandchildren. She leaves to cherish her memories, 3 devoted children, Rosa I. Along with her parents, she was proceeded in death by 2 Infant sons, her son-in-law, Clifford Davis, her brothers, James Mathis and Edgar Merritt, Jr., and her nephews, Lorenza Mathis and Willie B. Lessie was also the proud Founder and CEO of the Lessie Mae Burden Mathis Scholarship Fund. She enjoyed cooking, hosting, and spending time with her family. She earned her Certified Nursing Certificate and retired from the Montezuma Nursing Home and Rehab facility, where she worked for over 43 years. At the time of transition, Lessie was under watch care at Destiny Worship Center International Ministries, where she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and served faithfully as Team Destiny’s Ministry Mother. Early in life, Lessie joined the Forest Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. She was educated in the Vienna Georgia School System.
Lessie was born in Vienna Georgia on July 20, 1945, to the late Lessie Mae Burden Mathis and the late Lawrence Arthur Mathis. Everyone in attendance is asked to wear a mask.Lessie Ilene Mathis Hicks, 77, of Pinehurst, Georgia, entered fully into the presence of the Lord at 9:44 AM on August 25, 2022, from the Fairview Park Hospital located in Dublin Georgia. Interment Forest Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, Pinehurst GA.Public Visitation will be held Saturday Septemfrom 2:00 p.m. at the Dooly K-8 Gymnasium Pinehurst, GA.
